Projects I Have Worked On
Action Item EnhancementsThis was a fairly large project and thus came with several challenges. Because there were many user stories related to these new features, one of the main challenges was figuring out the best way to organize the content. This project helped me developed my research and organization skills and gave me valuable experiences working with screenshots.
Compliance Codes in eHub
This was the first new feature announcement that I wrote at TEAM Software for a new compliance codes feature. I gained practical experience delving into the related user stories so that I could understand how the feature works and be able to write effective content. I also gained experience editing images in Snagit, creating content in Flare, and working with subject matter experts.
InEight Plan 19.9 Release Notes
I was brought on to InEight at the outset of a major realignment of the Work Packaging module to follow the best-practice Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) approach. This shift in practices brought about significant changes in the software, requiring more documentation in the release notes for this version than previous versions. I was excited to work on this project because I knew that it would be challenging, and it helped me grow as a technical communicator.
InEight Progress 19.9 Release Notes
For my internship at InEight, I was also tasked with producing the release notes for InEight Progress. This version of Progress included several new features and improvements that I was tasked with documenting using MadCap Flare. This project also pushed me to grow and gave me practical experience using MadCap Flare and working with subject-matter experts.
Playing Electro Ball
This project was for an assignment in a technical communication course that I completed at UNO as part of my graduate certificate in technical coommunication. For this assignment, I was tasked with writing a procedure in the context of a dystopian novel that the class had been assigned to read at the beginning of the semester. "Electro Ball" is a sport referenced in the novel, but the rules and gameplay were unspecified. Thus, I created my own rules and gameplay and developed a set of instructrions on how to play Electro Ball. I enjoyed working on this project because it allowed me to use my imagination and practice my instructional writing skills.
